Bug-A-Salt Gun

Hi everyone,
Thinking of getting this Bug-A-Salt gun to shoot houseflies in the chicken coop.
But will salt kill the chickens? Can chickens eat salt?
Any reviews for this gun too?
It sure look fun!

Have no idea about salt for chickens but I have one of the guns... we got it for Christmas as our “silly” present.. LOL.. anyways.. you have to get REALLY close to the flies for it to work. Like.. inches to the flies for it to actually work. So, as a means of actually killing anything, it probably won’t help much but it is pretty fun to shoot them.

I wouldn't use it in the coop. I'm sure I read somewhere salt is not good for chickens.
That being said, bug a salt rifle is fun. Hubby uses his on the patio and anywhere he runs into a mosquito. He hates mosquitoes. He never uses it in the coop or run though.

We still use it. Mostly cuz its fun. With a bit of practice and stealth you can get em before they fly. Of course if they land on your leg and someone gets a bead on it, well its gonna sting a tiny bit. Not damaging, but not something you want to feel often. Ask me how I know.

I don't know if the salt is bad but I do have another idea... Have you ever seen those electric fly swatters? I bought one on Amazon for like $9 to take out mosquitos... It's a big tennis racket with AA batteries and you just swipe it through the swarm. It's pretty satisfying when you hear the *snap*... I see you're in Australia but I'm sure you can find something similar.

No we don’t still use it, it’s been in my husbands closet since Christmas.

I can also say the electric tennis racket is fun, but don’t let anybody stick their finger in it.. and don’t leave it around drunk people.. it will not be used for intended purposes LOL
