BUG in Poo-DEAD pullet Pls HELP identify

Okay, those extreme close-ups of whatever it is are fascinating...but...hard to look at. Awesome photography!

I'm not completely sure what they are, they appear to me to be tiny maggots as well - that would be my guess if I absolutely had to make one. They're not mites, and too large for lice.

If it helps any, I saw similar "bugs" in the poo pan in one of my pens the other day; I use a 2x4 perch, and about 8" underneath I have 2 concrete mixing tubs with pine shavings in them. I removed them one morning, and by that evening, the poo was all sort of disintegrated looking and filled with these wormy things. I thought for sure I had wormy birds in that pen, but come to find out, it was fly larvae.

That's what I would do Cheryl. Try that first and then if you find lots of worms in their poo different than these I would say worm with whatever you choose. It might be that fruit flies are laying eggs in their poo. Wazine you have to not use the eggs for 2 weeks, I can't remember some of the other wormers right off the top of my head or I could say really spell them

. Just use the search engine in blue and look up wormers. Lots to choose from.

Holy Wazine...argh..I have family coming in this week that are so excited to taste our eggs....

I need a size reference on these. Are they 1/4" long? Longer, shorter? I have a biologist friend i can ask if I know the size.
