Bug issue waiting period

I used a semi gloss, for reasons of cleaning exactly. I really don't find it too shiny, and it's going to get dirty with droppings, feathers, dust, cobwebs, etc. I don't scrub the walls except once or twice a year, when it needs a deep clean out, usually after molt. The wood is all rough, not interior finish type stuff, so the gloss really doesn't show up. I used a medium gray and other than making sure I got it good and covered, I didn't pay too much attention to fine finish.
I wonder if the glossy will be blinding with all my windows bouncing the light around. I’ll have to grab a sample of the sheen and see if it drives me nuts lol I’d love to go semigloss for wash ability if I can handle it. I know I’m thinking too much and it’s not a big deal but I’m a graphic designer and furniture restorer.. I see the world different than most! Every darn detail. Sometimes it’s a curse!

As I said to my DH, often, while building, IT'S A CHICKEN COOP!. It has to provide what they need, be secure, be cleanable without spending my whole day out there. I have windows, with the gray there is not huge shine or reflection with the semi gloss. Any shine that it has when newly painted is going to fade, rather quickly, from use, dust, dirt, droppings, cleanings, etc. Honestly, I like things to be attractive too, much nicer to look at, but in the long run functionality in a coop is going to be far more important and will be what drives you nuts if it's not. Almost no one will likely see the inside except the chickens and whomever does the cleaning and maintenance. I honestly can't imaging cleaning bare wood surfaces in my coop. I'd lose my mind. Sometimes I think that the inspiration for epoxy was chicken poop (cecal particularly). Flat paint would probably seal everything up also, but for cleaning and scrubbing, not sure it would stand up as well. Not to mention when a cut comb and a shaken head sends blood drops flying into every corner. Stuff happens. Do what you can live with and what works for you.

I'd go with semi then ;)

I’m leaning towards semi gloss. I painted the exterior with flat farm and fence paint and regret it! Do you have any pics of the gray inside?

Decent place to start....but googling for images would be good too.
Catching a few would be good too, if too small to get into a jar a piece of transparent tape is a good first step. Put jar in freezer fore a few hours to kill bug, then you can examine more closely. Macro photos and/or magnifying glass and/or microscope.
Old bug catcher here......lots of insects in the world and they can be very hard to ID accurately, most are harmless, no sense in fumigating harmless insects.

Good news... I found a bunch dead from the treatment I did a week ago. Doing another round today. Not lice as I have yet to find bug on chicken but looks very similar though! With wings? I’ve tried google but have yet to figure it out. They’re chilling in my freezer currently just to be sure pulse is nonexistent :lau.

Bad news.. I found one small one alive. Hoping this second treatment does the trick! And I don’t know about snapping pics clear enough but it at least gives me a good idea of what they look like
