Bug zapper for supplemental snacks...

I did this for a few years…I don’t think it ever added up to a LOT of supplemental food, but it was something, and the flock did run over to check under the zapper each morning.

It is working well. The big zapper is killing loads of bugs and the birds are cleaning them up. About once a week I turn it off and shake it clean of the bug build up. Not a substantial snack but it does get rid of bugs and hook them up with a snack.

I would add I put the bug zapper on a plug in photocell so it comes on at dark. This eliminates the chance of a chicken flying into it.
