We have a large patch of mint in my garden and it seems to be buggy. The leaves have holes in them and I have seen both caterpillars and small black bugs. Our chickens rarely go to the front of the house where the garden is, but the mint is the only buggy plant. I have read that cutting back the plant will help, but I worry that the plant will just get buggy again. Anyone have any thoughts?

How big is the patch, and is it ALL buggy? Can you harvest any mint that is in good shape? You might want to harvest anyways, or cut it down, and dry it, even if just to use the leaves in your coop. Mint is a cut and come again crop. Unless it goes terribly dry, it'll come back nice and strong with new growth.
