Hello everyone!
It's been a while since I've posted my concerns, which I believe is a good thing because it means my duck has been growing steadily and healthily. However recently I, along with my siblings, have noticed that there are these bugs crawling around on my duck's feathers. Initially, we were unconcerned because we do keep him outside on the grass for most of the day, so we thought that it was just some grass creatures that have made their way onto him. BUT, over the span of a week or so, we slowly began noticing that he was carrying way more than a few on his body. When I sneak in some cuddle time with him, I noticed multiple creatures crawling all his body, one even tried to sneak into his eye! I managed to take out the one that was approaching his eye, but when I try to pick out the others, they just burrow further into his feathers! It's been a very frustrating task and it hurts me to see him so distraught. He's been grooming for way more than usual, and I'm sure that this can be chalked up to those pesky bugs! I'm scared that these bugs are biting him or are slowly chomping off at his skin. I don't want to even think about what happens if these bugs crawl into his eye and aren't as docile as I first imagined! Please help! I know that there isn't a possible way to exterminate them all form my lawn, but I was wondering if there is a bathless cleanser for ducks that wouldn't affect his feathers? Just to let you know, I let him bathe twice a day in a pool of water but it doesn't seem to help against the bugs. Please help!
Thank You,
