I tried to enlarge the pic to get a better look at them. Looks like mites to me & if so, I'd bet they are all over the chickens as well. Not sure where you are located but here in Ohio we get northern fowl mites. They are reddish. They seem to attack the chickens at night. They hide in cracks & crevices of the coop during the day. I'll check back later to see if anyone else responds to your post. I'll get you advice on how to treat if they haven't. (Sorry, Running late for work.) Have a good day!

@bianca81

Honestly cannot enlarge those photos to tell what they are. But IMO if mites in that number, then surely you would see them on your flock. Could they be small roaches?

Maybe you should get a pest control specialist to come and inspect and bet they will know what they are…..Or call your county agent and see if they have someone who can help ID if you collect some in alcohol to take to them?

So sorry I cannot help, hope they are not pests to the flock and ridding the coop will not pose them a threat.

Cheers for info been to several chicken people but they unsure so advised to treat coop and chickens for mites as won't hurt
Thanks again

I still don't know either. I would guess they are some sort of mite though. Glad the chicks are clear, but confused. As @sunflour said, if they are in those numbers, you would see them on the chicks. I would make sure the chicks have access to dust bathe in ashes or in DE. (Only food grade DE). DE= Diatomaceous Earth. Please keep us posted.
