It's on!!! I just ordered a ton of tools off amazon (much more than I wanted to spend) and am stopping by Lowes tomorrow to get some wood to begin.

They've pretty much outgrown their indoor home and are pooping much more its so hard to keep clean. My goal is to finish it by the end of the weekend. My first time tackling some true carpentry so I hope it turns out well.. lol.

This thread will serve as the build thread.

Since I rescued them, my logic is that once they can fly, they are free to go. Should they get hungry, hopefully they know how to return to eat. There are a ton of ducks in the area so they are bound to bump into some friends.

Will begin posting pictures tomorrow or the next day.

Phew! Been working since 7am (including going to the store and getting everything)

Got the foundation set. What took forever was digging the holes ugh. What a workout!

I haven't really thought of doing that. Technically I'm building this until they are old enough to fly away and live their duck life. Excessive for the purpose I know, but maybe I can sell it to someone.

Wouldn't a decent wood sealer be just as good?

You could use rubber mats on the floor under your straw or chip. They are easy to pull out and wash or linoleum glued to the floor and up the sides a bit is easily cleanable as well.
