Building a farm .. Updated 8/24 Complete/ *PICS*

Wow what a lot of progress in a short amount of time. Reading throw this thread makes me think of when the "west was settled" back in the 1800s where everyone would just find 'em a place and build a house.

I'm actually designing our "dream log home" now. It's going to take about 4 years to save the money, but in 5 years we'll OWN our dream home and the 3+ acres it sits on

(actually we'll build the 2 bdrm/2bt guess house first, then the "main house").

Looks like more of the work is done. Won't be long til we see "we've moved in" posts! Hopefully the snow doesn't slow down the progress too much!

Congrats!

Looking good. I've checked in on your post from time to time but just put 2 and 2 together and figured out who you are. Duhh!

According to your builder, you will be moved in just in time for a St. Patricks Day HOOLEY!!!

After seeing all the ground leveled out, I was wondering what your landscape plans were. (if you have any) I bet you're itching to get in!

Great story, great pics., lovely house. There's nothing quite the same as creating your own home. I hope you are all very happy there.

Your wildlife is much the same as ours other than the woodpecker and deer. Do the snakes bother the poultry?

Well .. as "natural" as possible .. In the patches of trees .. Color under the trees .. and anywhere there is sun, vegetables, herbs, flowering plants, butterfly and hummingbird attractors .. it'll just have to be a work in progress..

we're on a slope, so there could be some stepping .. or dry creek beds .. or such as that ... still to be seen, I guess ..

Just found this thread. Thanks for sharing! I've really enjoyed following your progress. ('cept maybe for the scorpion, and the snakes.
