Hi All - I was going to do an update because it is raining and yuck outside. BUT, looking at the picture I was going to post - you can't see a lot of difference from the one I posted Friday. I did get a quite a bit accomplished since Friday, it's just not too noticeable in the picture. The run section (the old coop) is almost done. The north wall, where the red next boxes are is all finished - skirted with HWC, and all the goat fence replaced with HWC. The door is built and hung, ramp to the coop replaced and even added a cabinet and bookshelf for US.
I was really hoping to build the deck today, but it is looking like that is not going to happen today. I have been cutting and installing winter panels with the roofing tin as I go. I have already removed some of them as it is starting to feel like spring during the day, but still cold at night. The one in the front, on the new coop, is there because we have Tootie and the baby chicks living there. The babies are 2 weeks today. They roam around with Momma most of the day now - free ranging with the flock.
Once I get the deck done, the girls will be able to enter into the front coop - from the front of the building (instead of going in through the back coop like they have to do now). I really fear it is going to be more of a challenge to get Tootie to roos in the new coop. Yesterday she was trying to get the babies to go into the Old coop (that is now the Rooster pad). Tootie has never been inside the new coop that I know of. She sleeps under the new coop with her babies and watches everyone else go in and out, but.. Anyway - that is my long update about nothing!
