Wall framing is 8'x8' (yeah, the framing is 12' tall at the top of the roof) and they'll free range the yard during the day. I'll be purchasing a Runchicken T50 automatic door. At 4 sqft/chicken that's 16 birds, but I don't think it will be a big problem eventually getting up to about 25 birds when 20 of them are being grown out for slaughter rather than permanent residents. but the general idea is having the capacity to do more than just 4-5 laying hens and be maxed out. It is also being built so that it can be converted to a second shed with ease. Both gables and ridge will be good, not the same as in a residential attic.
Louvers might be good if you get wind driven rain/snow.
The fly rafters(I love them!!) might make louvers unnecessary
Not sure how much you can scale up with the foot print(6x6'?) you have.
