Building a pond

I am beyond excited to be building a pond for my little guy this weekend. I do not have any experience in doing this so I am looking for suggestions or ideas on how to filter, drain, photos, etc. The pond will be about 280 gallons.

Personally I use kiddie pools and use the water in my garden. If you want something more permanent have a look at the Duck-ponics thread and also Duckponics thread. They were the threads I liked the most for pumping and filtering water for ducks.
