Building an Aviary for my Ringneck Dove

Since my baby sister arrived, I've had to keep my Ring neck dove, Cas in a cage in my room. (He used to have full range of the house) I let him out to fly around in the room and on nice days I put him outside in his cage.
I know he hates being in his cage because as soon as I shut the door he starts pecking at the bars and sticking his beak through the bars. When I cover his cage at night he will jump up on his perch and then jump back down on the cage floor. He does this multiple times.

Before I moved to Texas (I used to live in California) he had a coop outside that was about 8x10ft. I want to build him something like that but I have only a little money and hardly any experience in building an aviary.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy or even as big as his old coop. Preferably something relatively easy to build.

Does anyone have any advice they could give me or instruction on how to build a cheap, sturdy cage/aviary?

I don't know how to help, but there is a dove section - you may want to try asking there to get the dove people to answer.

One thing I can tell you is that only 1/2 inch hardware cloth will keep out predators, and needs to be buried or aproned out to protect against digging predators. Weasels and rats can get through larger holes than that.

Here are the results of a yahoo image search- in case you are interested :)
