I am looking into getting some ducks and I was wondering if damning a creek would be a good idea? Also can you give me some tips on duck raising as I would be a n00b to it?

I don't know anything about building a dam, but we have a spring fed creek, and my husband just dug a big deep hole along the edge of it (with a backhoe) ... the water comes into the pond on one side and out the other... he didnt do anything fancy, but it sure enough made a pond

I would worry about the legalities of daming something.

Good idea! I bet that would work for your creek too! That way you are not stopping water but just pooling it in an area.

Definetly. And ethical issues too. Huge ecological chaos accompanied with daming (damning..pretty much) a creek.
