Already bought the latch because I had the same exact thought hahaAnother nice thing is a latch on the inside of the door, so nobody escapes while you are in. Also, very important, make sure there is a several inch lip under the door to the sleeping part, so bedding doesn’t fall out when you open the door or for the pop door to make sure the chickens don’t knock bedding out.

As for the bed area, good tip! One really nice thing @ThatsMyPurseIdontknowyou is going to do is make it so that it's a tray that, after I collect eggs, I can pull out to dump spent bedding and clean the area more easily.
It looks awesome!Worked about 6 hours on it today. Got most of the shiplap done. Just have the detail work around the door area left.
