Building my own coop! Pics and questions.

So I took a simple a frame chicken coop plan and added a few of my own touches. Here is what I got so far.

Here is a picture of where the chickens will be nesting/laying.

Question- do I need to build boxes for the chickens to lay eggs in or will it naturally happen in that area?

Also do I need to have places for the chickens to perch? Here is a picture of the run area, I could possibly hang some perches down there.

Chickens like roosts. They should be at least 2" wide. The roosts should be significantly higher than the nests. Having nests usually eliminates floor eggs that come into contact with feces. The hens will normally lay from dawn to 10am but may happen at all daylight hours.
You could put a nest below the roost space that they can use during the day.

Your setup will work with some minor modifications.

Can I make their roost in that upper section and build laying boxes for the area underneath it? Do you think that would work?
