Building our Quail Hutch - Update 4/13/09

Hey Michigan! That looks awesome so far! Do you mind if I link back to this when I do my blog post on building a quail hutch? It'll help give people some different ideas

Can't wait to see your progress!

Steve, aaaaah that sounds wonderful. But I do think my kids and DH wouldth protest. They'd want to partake of the lovely beach as well!

AndreaGS, you most certainly can!!

I hope to do a little more work on it today, but will be mostly relaxing with DH. It's our 6th Anniversary today.

I sorta like the beach.

What with it supposed to be snowing here later today.

You know what's funny? After telling DH about hatching quail, he asked me last night how hard it would be to hatch and raise our own turkey(s) for Thanksgiving. I shot him a look like, "what?!". So far it's only been me into the whole hatching bit. So I may just be trying my hand at building a turkey house soon enough!

Cass, sounds like you've finally got your hubby hooked!!!!

I think he is, Boyd!

Yeah, I believe the snow is supposed to hit us about monday. Ack, and now going to have to put up the fishing poles (pouts)

My husband certainly isn't into building anything other than computers, so I feel your pain. But you may discover as I have that building stuff can be extremely fun! Just a tip though... make sure you pre-drill all of the holes where you plan on putting screws. Otherwise they go off in all sorts of funky directions. That was pretty much the first thing I learned last fall when I started all of this. Also, nails don't work nearly as well as screws. -- Sorry to hear your hubby will be gone all month. Those eggs and your building projects should keep you busy!!

Good luck with all of it and make sure you post (with pictures!!) about your building projects and eggs! We all love reading these kinds of threads.

I've so had my fill of it for a while.... Nooooooo! Not the fishing poles!!!! Dangnabit! I love fishing. There's a lake around the corner from us and I sneak over there whenever I can to fish. But usually only in the warm weather.
