building paradise for the birds

i can get some of the hmong chickens for you over in the fresno area if your close to that...i think the toilet bowl covers are functional. and as for the scooter cant remember where i seen that...such a good idea...just think of all the people you pay when you get a dui with one of those...lawyer, court, fines, jail....its a win win for everyone other then the person that bought the unit...

Wow seriously fresno ? That's right around the corner from me. My kelso came from Fresno. This isn't the first time you got birds from cali, still wondering why you don't just relocate here for a simpler life. ;) ;)

Good luck and best wishes Birdman, whatever trials and tribulations you are facing.
I have lived in my little valley for almost 30 years, and I'm still considered an outsider (and an odd duck). I'm only conjecturing of course, but it sounds like you are up against a rock wall of conformity that doesn't like anyone who thinks outside the box, and so will do what they can to beat you down. Sidetracking someone who is trying to help a community, well, That's their loss. What's that saying? What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger? You will be wiser too.
You (and @ATTIMUS) are inspiring. Thank you. God bless you. I do hope you come back and continue to help all of us who recognize the value of your work. (And please forgive me if I'm reading too much into this  )

today was court and it was a weird day that just didnt make sense...but all is well and hoping for the best but my luck it looks like it will be around my bday in december that i wont be around...so well see...and that rock is more like a mountain and they just keep on pushing me down the side of the steep side every time i get my feet back to the ground...one more round of paying everybody and the great state of michigan.. Moving to michigan has been the worst decision i had made in my life...i just hope i can move so i can live a more healthy lifestyle in a bigger city...its bad when you walk into court and both pos know your name, the clerk at the counter knows your name, the lawyer you never met walks up to you in a room full of 20 people and knows who you are and then the balif walks up and says here kris sign this....lol...and then to top it the bank lady was there learning how to do something for the courts and she just shook her head...we (myself and the ladies at the bank have an open honest friendship) so they have been thru it all with me....but it is what it is....like the common saying here is "come to michigan on vacation, and dont leave cause your on probation."....crazy has it been since 2011...and so hasnt gotten better since...i was just starting to supply the amish with my eggs as well...and then one day i went in there and they were like where is all the eggs...i had to tell them that i had to butcher all my layers...they couldnt believe that i would even do such a thing...keeping my head up has been tough, sleep has been tough, and motivation has been tough. but still trying to be me and birdman all at the same time. see you guys soon and stay positive like im trying...

Good to know they are right around the corner, not quite ready for more birds yet. Trying to get to many projects finished as is lol. Maybe once I build a few more pens I'll be ready for them, well and after I ask the Miss of course.
Any time to fight the good fight from the outside is always a good thing. Just keep it up and keep pushing forward with it. You never know how things will turn out til you meet them head on.

Birdman. Kris, I think your grandpa would be very proud of you. This has been a very trying time for you obviously, but you are meeting the challenges head on and with your head up. Staying positive. We all have our challenges to overcome and sometimes the reason we get turned in a new direction in life is not readily apparent, at least at first.
I had two major auto accidents within 6 years when I was younger. I lost a full ride scholastic scholarship from one, (meaning from the effect of the accidents, hit my head both times, hence the aphasia) and my back up occupation/livelihood from the second. I'm not bragging, I'm just trying to show you it was a long fall for me (career expectations wise) too. But, for me, It was a good thing in the long run. I look back on the direction I was going originally and I think that road, had I taken it, would have been full of frustration and misery. I like my life now, it's hard sometimes, yes, but so what. I have been blessed in so many ways. I have had a full and interesting life so far, and I would not trade it for an "easier " life by any means.

It was truly a courageous decision to cull or otherwise get rid of what 3/4? of your flock to comply with your situation, No one can fault you for that, it may even have contributed to the reprieve, who knows. But you can always rebuild your flock, exactly how you want. How you hold your head up and soldier on, now that's impressive. I know it's hard. But you're doing it. So yes, I think your grandpa would be proud of you.

Besides, I need your help. Not right now, maybe next year. I want to turn this

Into an incubator. How many quail eggs do you think I could get in this? ;)

in the quail incubator from gqf it can fit roughly 1300 eggs at once...so just check their dimensions and compare it to yours...yours seems taller so maybe double id say close to 2000 if you stack them..biggest thing would be to measure the distance between the racks...to make sure you can double stack them...even buy some quail racks and try to double stack them....also people keep in mind that jumbo quail sometimes produce eggs that wont fit into the regular quail racks ...so keep this in mind as well....hope this helps...

so it is so quiet compared to what it used to be here....kindof gets me confused when im here....so i met with my lawyer and he stated " well im not going to do that so go hire someone else". so idid. finally paperwork went thru as of today so i have someone else now...problem being i cant get that person on the phone to talk to. so with that in mind i called the house of representatives the local guy triston cole. he is a great guy and he is a farmer himself so i felt we had a great conversation today as well as a connections. i will be doing a statement and some of the future laws here in michigan are going to be in effect to my actual statement which will be formed in lansing michigan. it will be my pleasure to speak or have my testimony be one presented in future laws in this state. as this is a tough subject for my politicians, one can only get better for their people thru other peoples experiences...and i hope my story with influence many. this forum will be included into the story of who i am and how i live as a farmer and what i have been thru. and i hope that the story hits home to people and changes many peoples lives. which i know it has all over the world...so if you have been influenced by my story please dont be shy and write. now is the time to speak up if you just have been watching and not commenting. which i know there is alot of people that dont write bc i can see whos online my forum....so please dont be shy. the more the marrier. and it would make me and alot of people see how truly one persons story have influenced so many people...with over 50,000 views i know there are plenty of people that have seen this and thought it to be helpful but now is the time to share your experience and share how i have helped you be a better farmer. when i copied and pasted my gpas picture to mr coles email. it was one of the hardest things i have ever had to do. and its been over two hours and im still emotional. i have spoke to many of you on here on the phone and you know what im going thru and i thank you for the support. but now it is not about support for me its about how i have helped you as a farmer. PLEASE RESPOND. AS NOW IT IS MORE THEN JUST A RESPONSE.

as the time gets closer i know what is going to happen. and it hurts to know that i have given away so much of my stock, and to soon know that i wont be there. so please share your story. IT MEANS MORE TO ME THEN YOU KNOW
