building paradise for the birds

Pics
well today was better....I wasn't feeling that well for the last couple of days and things didn't come together those days however...I got the other four coops done with the tarp ontop, birds in their new pens, mealworms in which tonight I am starting their colony...and tommarow im picking up two female lady Amherst pheasants.....also I will be posting pictures of my friends peach goldens and silver golden pheasants tommarow....so stay tuned you will see some very pretty birds...also will be setting 30 eggs in the new incubator tommarow....cant wait
everything is coming into place slowly but its getting there...not liking this tarp thing but it has to be for right now...I put 2x4x12s up on end thru the center of the pens so it will hold most of the weight

good luck with that!!

hey everyone well good day kinda...the guy that has a truck said he was gunna take me to the lumber store well he never showed up...and my truck is down right now....so no dc wire for the incubator....bla blah blah...well...im taking my ac to dc converter and ripping the wire apart and using that im not waiting any longer...not good to do since I spent eight bucks for it but whatever right....gotta get this thing done cause tomorrow I will be setting thirty chicken eggs...so well see what happens...if this guy even shows up tommarow...well just got off the phone with the guy im going to get the female lady amhersts from and its set on Monday...and I will also be getting some pictures of his birds..he said it was ok to show people....so people can see where the birds came from ....well some of them anyway....got two of the doors hung and then I came inside to call the guy to see if he was gunna snag me up and he goes...well I just got done taking a two hour nap..and the truck is gone..wow...well hoping for a better day tommarow

hope everyones day went well...and sorry for no pics...I didn't get to go to the store im stranded out ten miles at my home with no car....the lady is in Wisconsin right now for a funeral and my other car is ten miles down the road.....grrrr.....stuck I think its time for a movie....I think so....well after im done bringing in some wood for the fire....this should be chicken true tv...the ups and downs of the birdman....lol
Yikes, thats not good at all! Hope you got home ok.

awwww so cute....I cant wait I should have some chickies myself mid January...and im getting a special bird but im not going to say until it is hear...im so excited..yepper
and as the wire I just wanna keep things the same...and not change to a bigger wire...I guess it wouldn't matter going bigger but I could short the devices if I put to much on it and if I went the other way I could start a fire...and that wouldn't be to fun...so im going to keep things simple and just put ac to ac and dc to dc...and an ac to dc converter when needed...

ANYONE ON HERE THAT IS FROM MICHIGAN IF YOU CAN FIND ME A FEMALE PIED AND IB FEMALE PEAFOWL...THAT WOULD BE AWESOME
Wasn't there some pied up in Sault Saint for sale? Or do you mean a pied IB?

Sorry your having a bad time of things birdman. Your an hour from me birdman so if you need something let me know...like a ride or something from the store etc lol.

On the brighter side i candled last night and here are the results. 8 with definate veins 2 maybes and 2 clears for the shipped muscovy eggs. 9 with masses and 2 clears for chicken eggs although i can see nothing but aircells pretty much in 6 of those eggs. So at the moment it looks like i have 10 of 12 muscovy eggs and 9 of 11 chicken eggs.

well that's great news...I hope you do well with the hatch...I cant get those kinds of ducks..i don't really like how they look...
we are going to get the runners from a lady in Gaylord this season...they are funny to watch when they run....they run so fast they fall on their face...lol

well good news I was gone from eight this morning to seven tonight..have been busy till now and now I get to show you some really cool things...like what I have been working on...1000 mealworm colony and pics from the stock I get birds from....tony I know you will like some of these birds...
well hope you enjoy the pics...(got two lady Amherst pheasants today)
most of the stuff for the incubators(I might have a pull for two fridges....yeah that will save a lot of hassle)

the doors being done inside....man was it cold that day...along with the new net...which works way better...then the old one...

ive seen water bottles being placed in coolerbators so I thought I would use this method for a dual purpose method...one to keep the temp and two for rotation...things you don't come up with

12 liter container with oats about two inches think in it

the oats

what a thousand mealworms look like...I will prolly be getting more so they can be breeding and I can feed them during mating season for the pheasants they have I believe 53 percent protein...

another pic of the worms...that's a lot people

so this is a place where I get some of my birds he is very credible and has been breeding pheasants for over 35 years...he also got stock from louie bousche...not sure on the last name spelling...sorry if I messed that up...louie was supposedly the first person with the peach golden...and as for the silver golden I guess this guy from Minnesota and one other guy was the ones that first had these...louie is passed on I believe in 2010 and the other guy the one with the silver goldens in no longer in birds for some reason...anyone that is reading this can now get an understanding why there is not really any credible resources about these birds...not sure on all the breeds so here is some pics..that I got with his permission....and my two lady amhersts came from this beautiful lady Amherst pheasant...so I cant wait...yepper anyways to the pics....
im sure tony can fill us in on what each of these birds are called....I only remember so many of them ....and this was only about ten percent of his stock...can only stick so much on here you know...he estimates that he has approx....60 pens...yep 60...anyways hope you enjoy the pics.....

impeyans

blue mutant pheasants....I will be replacing my ringneck with the offspring of these birds...cant wait for that...they are so flighty...

stock from louie....this would be a peach...this breeder has also had salmon goldens as well...

inflight cant remember the name..i believe it was coco...common tony help me out on this one

another picture of this bird...I guess you have to feed it a lot of grass..cause It loves grass I guess....very cool Mohawk thing on its head tho...I might get some of these as well...not sure

more stock from louie.....notice the female all white...and the peach golden was so bright the camera could barely pick up the colors....so cool

this is the same two birds just got the camera to catch the colors

THE MOHAWK.....mom got to see all these birds when she came over from Wisconsin on thanksgiving...right mom

and OFCOURSE...MY NEW THING...HE HAD THREE DIFFERENT KINDS OF SILVER GOLDENS....EACH ONE HAD DIFFERENT SMALL ATTRIBUTES ON THEM...THIS ONE IS WHERE MY STOCK CAME FROM....JUST IN CASE A CERTAIN PERSON IS LOOKING....SO VERY CREDIBLE AND DEFF NOT A YELLOW GOLDEN

THIS ONE IS SOME TROPICAL PHEASANT...HE SAID HE IS NOT VERY NICE..

more birds

and more birds

and more birds

and more...this is the parents of my two female lady Amherst that I got

look at the size of that tail.....wowzer

this is a splashed female with a peach golden

dark throat golden....these birds are so dark even the females are super dark.....very cool looking I want some....but man I can only build so many coops....its winter.....grrrr...patience I guess...I will get there

darkthroat

yes and THE SILVER GOLDEN....MAN SO PRETTY LOOK AT HOW WHITE THAT BACK IS

ANOTHER PIC

this I believe was the fifth pair of peach goldens he had....he also mentioned that when you do breed the peaches you will not have a full breed true
..you will get some peaches and some will be not peach
well hope this trip to the pheasant zoo was helpful and exciting for you people as it was for me...it was like 400 miles today...and glad gas was 1.98 to 2.09....cause that helped...so one with the work I go...I got some things to do and then to work on the finishing of the incubation station
