so this is a place where I get some of my birds he is very credible and has been breeding pheasants for over 35 years...he also got stock from louie bousche...not sure on the last name spelling...sorry if I messed that up...louie was supposedly the first person with the peach golden...and as for the silver golden I guess this guy from Minnesota and one other guy was the ones that first had these...louie is passed on I believe in 2010 and the other guy the one with the silver goldens in no longer in birds for some reason...anyone that is reading this can now get an understanding why there is not really any credible resources about these birds...not sure on all the breeds so here is some pics..that I got with his permission....and my two lady amhersts came from this beautiful lady Amherst pheasant...so I cant wait...yepper anyways to the pics....

That would be a koklass.Very nice birds.I don't believe I have ever bought any birds from Louie yet.I do like those koklass, had them years ago and had to getr rid of them.
In N.H.,Tony.

well louie unfortunately is passed away I believe in 2010...but some of those birds are from Louie's stock...I knew you would like those birds....

so today was a good day .....NO MORE DIGGING IN THE FROZEN GROUND....yes that's right it is done....the base is in the ground and level...it feels great to know that fun stuff is over with...btw everyone don't build coops in the winter.....lol....

so here are some pics

FINALLY...yep done with the base

the pupa that I found going thru one of the bins....going thru the other one tonight...

UPDATE ON COOLERBATOR.....
well so far it is holding a steady temp and humidity ....however I do notice alittle build up of moisture at the top where you look thru....any ideas of what that might be from....
talk to you soon

I know of 2 solutions for the rats. I don't know why, but rats steer clear of guinea pigs. You can keep them right with the birds; they'll get along. They just need greens or alfalfa pellets. They'll eat some feed. The other thing is that they primarily come to the coop for the feed. Feed your birds fermented feed and they'll go away! They don't like it fermented. Cool, huh?
wee.gif
unfortunately the rats voles and mice near my barn are happy to eat the fermented feed! In the summer evenings if there is any left I sometimes catch them leaping out of the trough....

we have a vet in Wisconsin that labeled my 14 or 15 year old other white male pit as an American bulldog so we could keep him and not get crap for it....some people understand these dogs....most are just scared of these dogs because of the media...you don't ever hear of a german shepard attack on the news or radia....y you might ask...its because law enforcement uses these dogs and they cant have society bashing the dogs they use for tactical training and live events...right...

well on a different note...got 16 eggs this morning and im sure well get more because I only seen one white egg....got everyone watered and fed so now on with the work...I have to get more thermal bowls to keep the rubberones from freezing...its to time consuming to have to knock out ten rubber bowls...
have a wonderful day everyone....
talk to my ride today and he says tommarow or later tonight we maybe could go to the lumber yard...and also pick up one of the fridges....so im excited...
if I can figure out how to get somewhere farther away I could grab up some ayam cemani chickens...boy that would be a great add on...one of the most rarest chickens in the world...another separate pen for another set of birds...wow this is never ending...maybe I should stop getting so many birds.....NAW
yes everyone says our dog is a pit whenever we walk him or take him for car rides. I like pits i am not a hater of any specific breed just the people who raise them and how they raise them cause thats what determines the dogs temperament. and I read this thing showing over time there was always a hated dog breed so someday it wont be the pits but another breed of dog to the the haters.

I dug a frozen foundation with an adze a couple year ago, was very glad to be done with it.

Moisture on viewing window means pretty high humidity and/or significant temperature differential between outside and inside of bator.
Not sure you you are measuring humidity with a device tested for accuracy or trying to keep humidity at a certain point but a properly tested hygrometer and venting in bator can control that.
