building paradise for the birds

@birdman55

I have a friend actually a neighbor who turned into a friend over time... He used to raise pheasants and quail I would consider him a birdman as well.... He can catch a hummingbird barehanded and hold it for a bit when he would open his hand it will lay there quite some time then it will stand up and ruffle its feathers and look at him... then fly off.

Hes also very good at that whole hypnotizing thing with quail and chickens and wild birds... He rehabbed a Raven once.

I think some people have that instinct and inner quiet animals reach out to.

Hes also very good with dogs and horses... Hence why I trust him to care for mine wile I am away.

well finally got some time off to catch up on the birds and to prep for moms arrival....been super busy here are a couple of pics....figured i would post so here are some chickens and a quail right after and out of the featherman game bird plucker...works great...i did see some things that im sure most people deal with the pluckers...but overall it did a wonderful job with the chickens and great job on the quail...

sometimes the birds get stuck on the outside of the unit....especially the smaller birds like quail....but hey what can you ask for....

on a different note...i heard gff acquired a four set of cemanis...not sure if this is true or not....also they have left me in the dust...so much for being a top person on their list....so bummed about how they handle customers service...i will email them asking on what happened and see for their response...

I'm not 100% positive, but those "filler" birds look to be Bielefelder cockerels.
If you have a close-up photo of them, perhaps I can tell better.

they are bellies.....one male and three females....i shall update people on what has been going on...i moved the filler birds to the back...where they can free range...i also have been teaching the male pit how to round up the chickens at night so they are all in....well long story short...in the morning when we let them out he made a meal out of the rooster....all apart of the training i guess....sometimes the dog think they are working all the time...anyways...mom came up and we enjoyed butchering a bunch of roosters and birds...close to 40 gone..lets say i cant eat chicken anymore...so then we started to do the quail...prolly like 10...speaking of quail every single one of our hatches...which one is hatching right now...is sold...pretty cool huh....also getting into tennesse red quail...cause people train dogs with them and are asking for alot...been difficult to get online and phone broke so sorry for the no pics and updates....out of all the birds we have i would have never thought that i would buy more chickens..however i came home with 16 more...merely for a statistical approach for the following year....peafowl eggs are supposed to hatch by the end of the weekend...planted a bunch of flowers with mom...she really got me motivated...i had some really cool pics of the birds and another big pheasant breeder on the phone but it broke...we unloaded a thousand birds into his coops that was really fun...he now maintains my 2 month old birds...we have a nice thing going...for us right now..he even sold some of my birds...lol...he sure is a funny old guy...the peach goldens and all the other one year old males are really starting to color out now...wow they are truly amazing looking now..i cant wait to update my website...and once they color in publish the website...moved all of the sq barred rocks into the free range as well...going to be downsizing the chicken flock very soon....even tho the 40 some chickens we butchered didnt even put a dent into the chickens...all has been well...thought i would share this as well...gff sent me a email saying that i was supposed to get my birds from them in june however the email provided wasnt a valid email...right...since i have been using that same email this entire time and for the last like 5 plus years...so i guess i should get some birds from them third week in july...however..im not holding my breath now...anyways...keep up the good work everyone...i will try and get a camera to take some pics to place on here...have a wonderful day and night everyone...i sure miss posting on here...and getting all of the encouraging messages and inspiring people
