building paradise for the birds

so alot has happened since last on here...here goes...

got rid of a trio of yellow goldens and one of my svart hona roosters....
moved the ayam cemani outside and got some pics. i moved them to the greenhouse where the peacocks were at.
got rid of the remaining non fibro chickens...only ones left are the hmong chickens and svart honas and ayam cemanis..
made some salsa...that was great and canned them...
also made some pico de gallo
4-5 tomatoes the medium sized ones that can fit into your hand. (cubed)
one whole medium sized onion (finely diced)
4 green onions (sliced thin)
one lime and one lemon (squeezed)
cilantro (probably 1/3 of what you buy in the stores)
salt and pepper. i use more pepper then most cause i like pepper
two hass avocados that are ripe (if you push on it and its hard its not ready, if it has some sponge to it its good. if you can push quiet far in it its no longer good)
and thats it...( the green onion is optional as well, i do like the addition)
mix together and enjoy

hope i will be back later today with pics

I tried to call you the other day. Will try again.

Eggs are due to hatch 11-5. I can't wait to see what I get. I have hatched out a bunch of runner ducks and have 4 more eggs to go so bator is working good.

Well we fgot half the coop done. Just in time for a rainy day! I wanted to put gutters on the top. Run them into the grass. I also wanted to raise the coop so the water doesn't stand. When it rains it pours!! Luckily the sun will come out tomorrow. Atttimus you must be getting rain as well? i have some before and after pics . I'm going to post as soon as I charge my phone.
Salsa recipe sounds delicious !!!!
I may move my isbar, BR @ Olive egger into the big coop today. I'm still debating . I have a few girls that are molting hard! I don't want my cockerel practicing on them. However, I also don't want to leave him alone. Hmmm

here is the broody coop. I move them in when they show first 2-3 days of becoming broody. There are 3 separate spaces all with two nesting boxes. This was thrown together one weekend when we had four hens go broody. pretty much within three days.

I would like to make it more comfortable for them come spring time. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the inside.

here is my standard coop. I have 5 2 yr olds hens and 5 teenagers. Just happened to start laying this week. Yay! I want to expand it quite a bit and add four more laying boxes maybe to the right side of the coop. Currently we have four laying boxes on the left side.

This is my bantam coop. I definitely realized they need more room on the bottom. I have a Cochin and a Mille fluer occupying the coop right now . I am still debating putting the Seramas in with them. I also have 4 pullets and two Roos In the brooder. That's why My biggest concern is for my standard size hens. How many feet should I be giving them ? I want to be able too walk in the coop access everything easily ! With out crawling around dodging roosts among other things!!

I'm only 5 foot two so that's not that tall. Anyways, if anybody has any input, pictures I would love to hear and see! I'm in the 1-300$ range. I still need to read a few more pages of this thread. Which is awesome! Thank you and advance to anyone who has any advice!!

I finally have a few minutes to get a few pictures up. We are not done yet. I do have to say after the rain storm no water was In the coop.

We went from a A frame to a squared off coop. The roof did great in the rain. It was wet about a foot away from coop. We added 2 more nesting boxes and now each hen has 10 cubic square feet. I'm not sure what the standard is?
It's been really quite since we added more room. We are still going to give them 4-5 feet on the right side.
We only spent 130$. We have scraps around. Bonus crown molding! Yes I made my husband put it up to cover the chicken wire. I now have a 3 rd entry to nesting boxes and coop yeah! No more snagging my clothes.

We did add 3 more roosts. One really high for the teenagers to escape my original flock. I'll post the pictures of the building process next.
We have not been able to get the banties coop done yet. We will definitely be using attimus idea for them. Any other advice would've awesome! Happy chickens yeah! Happy momma ! No more screaming " she's in my box get her out" why they all have to use 1-2. Cycle of life I guess. Hope all is well !
Edited : I can't find my reading glasses
