Sunday I brought home two three adult turkey hens. I have one Tom turkey. I also brought two pea hens for my peacock. I put them all in a fairly large enclosure with three roosters. They all have ample places to hide and/or stay out of the way of each other. So far all seems to be going well. I also put food in several places, giving each of them a safe place to eat. From the blogs I have read so far, I think maybe I should keep them in this enclosure for a couple of weeks, as long as I don't see any signs of serious abuse among the flock. I am trying to decide about clipping the wing (feathers only) of the turkey hens. I welcome everyone's thoughts regarding that. I am eager to read your ideas. I am going out to check on the flock and gather the eggs from my beautiful Rhode Island Red hens that my husband gave me for Christmas. I am enjoying them immensely. They are almost kitten-like with their curiousity and soft silky feel.
