I've read a lot of posts and took notes and I just finished the biggest part of my styrofoam cooler/incubator. I was worried about opening it and turning the eggs so I made a manual turner that allows me to turn the eggs from the outside. I'll only have to open to candle and then to take the chicks out

You can't see from this picture but there is a tray of water in the back and I've got a straw leading to it so I can add more water easily. I've also got a mercury thermometer back there too. I have a small pane of glass from an old picture frame on the top and I can see everything from there. I hope it works!

Here is the only picture I could upload with this poky connection...

I've still got a little tweaking to do. I might try it out next week.

I saw one while searching for ideas on how to build it. I thought it would be best to keep my hands out of there as much as possible. I can't wait to use it!

I am trying to figure out what that is you have sitting in your turner... My eyes won't connect to my brain on this one!
Wow! What a great idea! It looks like it will work perfectly. Are you adding a fan?

It's just an empty half egg carton. i haven't put eggs in there yet. It's just there to show size really.

The fan is coming. I've got three crap computers in the back room that I'm going to take apart tonight. My hubby is at Wally World right now getting a dimmer switch. It should be ready to go after that.

your incubator from the front looks kinda like a microwave lol
I wish I had a larger window like that one.

ok my husband got the dimmer switch and i just hooked up the pos and neg wires but what do i do with the ground wire? hubby is at work so i can't call him.

and will an old phone charger work to power the computer fan?

You can just leave the ground wire alone, you don't really need it. But cover it with some electrical tape or something, just so it's not exposed.

Yes, the phone charger will work, that's what I used.

Good luck! I'm on Day 3 of my first hatch!
