Hello, I’ve got two five day old chicks, two four day and one three day. They’re all appearing happy and healthy. Sometimes however they will peck at each other until one stands up for its self and they both go back to normal. Is this just normal chick behaviour to form a hierarchy or do I have a bully problem? They all do it so I can’t seem to narrow down an instigator. I did think it was maybe spacing issues so they’re in a rather large box with lots of room to wander around. They’ve also got an eco glow brooder so not too hot or too cold either.

From my experience that’s just normal behavior kind of like establishing a pecking order, and sometimes if one is smaller and weaker bigger ones will start to pick on it
