Bumble foot help.

I have an ex-commercial cinnamon queen. She has a sore on her foot that I am treating as bumble foot. It’s a big scab, but there is no obvious swelling or anything. Could it be just a sore and not bumble foot? She also has an area of raised scales on both legs. I’m not sure if this is just a natural feature or a mild case of leg mites? If anyone can take a look and let me know what you think I would appreciate it.

I will continue with treating the foot as if it is bumble foot regardless. We are doing the cleaning, ointment, drawing salve with bandages until this weekend and then plan to remove it.

It does appear to be bumblefoot, so I would definitely continue with that and take care of it. Bumblefoot is not always swollen, unless it's been there for quite a while. I don't think it's scaly leg mites, but you can work some oil into the area with a soft toothbrush just in case, to smother them, a couple of times a week. You can use any vegetable oil, I like castor oil as it's so thick.

Here is her beak. I think it may be causing some issue with her eating, the way the bottom beak has that point that curves up unnaturally. When she goes straight at something (like trying to peck my freckles) she just bounces back off without getting a grip on it. She did manage to catch and eat a cricket earlier though. @Shadrach if you could weigh in on this beak for me and if trying to trim/modify it would be a good idea?

Looks like the upper beak tip has been broken and the lower may be just a bit over grown. You can trim or file that bit off on the bottom, just do slow and don't take too much. Might have to repeat that again before the upper grows out a little. If you feed in open , deeper dishes that are raised up a little it makes it easier for them to scoop feed when they have beak issues. You can also make a mash with the feed by mixing it with some water to make a gruel, sometimes that's easier as well. Most of them like it that way. Same with waterers, open deeper dishes that are raised up some make it easier. It would be good to weigh her now, and then weigh periodically to make sure she's taking in enough and not losing weight.

Ok. Thanks. All good suggestions. I’ll weigh her when I bring in to doctor her foot this evening
