I would poke them down but the old trees around give them branches 20-25 ft off ground. But I will remember the pool cue idea if they head toward lower limbs.
Vet confirmed frostbite and we put her down. We will bury her and the other bird in the pet area come spring.
The good news in this is the others have no frostbite and have plenty of DE to stay dusted for winter.
I bought some oats and frozen veggies at grocery store, along with fresh parsley. The remaining birds will get a treat tomorrow with their millet.
Thanks y'all.

I just found that I never responded to your inquiry. My birds will eat parsley and even cilantro - especially in winter - maybe because it's a break from the game bird kibble? Now that's its spring I give them a treat of veggies from time to time but mostly use millet, black sunflower, and dried meal worms to call them in for head count. We started with 24 keets - being dumb as a box of rocks about them we did manage to raise them all 24 to adulthood. We are now at 11. We lost 2 due to the frostbite issue and the remainder were either nabbed by foxes, raccoons or had the misfortune to fly into the dog lot. (ARGHGHGHGHGHHG)Okay. Sorry to hear about your lossesbut the treats sound good. Do your guineas eat oats, veggies and parsley? Because mine won't even touch it![]()
