Can anyone help me figure out how to get this red lump to a head.

I have a rooster who’s got a problematic foot.

I had done soaks in salt and wrapping his foot and finally got the pus ball out of the bottom of his foot and it came out of the BACK toe.

BUT he still has this red spot like this up between the toe in the front of his foot.

Again- the black spot on his foot pad and the pus came out of his BACK toe it was no where near this.

But I don’t know how to deal with this one.

If I cut into this it’ll bleed so much, I’ve tried before and the bottom of the foot where the kernel was and the back toe where the pus was is completely healed but there is no other kernel or head to address on this.

Thanks you.

Pic as an example of how it looks.

He is given antibiotics and pain meds. I’ve aspirated it as well and it’s just blood.

If we need to lance it from the top I can and will despite the excessive bleeding I just need to know if that’s the right way.

My husband worried about it with excessive bleeding but since the bottom of his foot is healed where we initially pulled kernal from I am just not sure.

The vets initially didn’t even think it was bumblefoot so I’m on my own on this.

Ok, wow! That looks very uncomfortable for him. I have a hen who had similar swelling , and like yours the bottom seemed fine. I soaked, and made a small incision in the area with the most swelling. If I remember correctly we had to really force the pus out and yes, there was a bit of blood. Her foot was so bad that that gunk finally came flying out and left a deep hole that we cleaned out, and packed with ointment, and had to keep a bandage on for a long time.
She healed fine after awhile only to have it on the other foot a year or more later.
Just my opinion, I would make a small incision on his right side(the more swollen side)

In addition to lancing, I would make a paste using terramin clay, apply to the foot and then keep the foot wrapped. Change daily.
