Not really necessary.Don’t forget pain relief. Chickens can have aspirin, you’ll have to look up the dosage.0
A baby aspirin is cheap and easy to administer so I don’t see the harm in giving one if a chicken has had their foot cut open and dug into. Prey animals hide their pain so it’s not obvious if they are hurting or not.Not really necessary.
Because you're cutting into the foot, chances of bleeding, etc.I was wondering about that every thing I’ve watched and read didn’t say anything about aspirin. She is acting fine this morning.
If the surgery is already done and the hole is close there’s not much chance of bleeding but yes that should be part of the thought process with aspirin.Because you're cutting into the foot, chances of bleeding, etc.
You don't give aspirin when there's a potential for bleeding.
Rarely do you need to administer pain relief for anything.
Links to the modern Veterinarian recommendations? If the surgery is already done and the hole is close there’s not much chance of bleeding but yes that should be part of the thought process with aspirin.
As far as using pain relievers, you are speaking against the modern recommendations from veterinarians for bumble foot and other injuries that chickens get. They do feel pain just like other living creatures with a nervous system. Many medications also help with swelling which is common after injury.
