My exact thought. It almost looks like a blood blister.:idunno

I haven’t ever used that antibiotic before. It works for a wide array of types of bacteria so that’s good. However looking it up, it says it’s potentially a mutagen and carcinogen. Which means it has the capability of mutating your DNA and causing cancer. So I would be very cautious. If it were me, I would never get any of it on my skin. And since all my animals are pets, I probably wouldn’t put it on them either. Especially if you are going to eat them or any of their eggs. But since you’ve bought it already,.........:idunnoI’d hate to tell you what to do!

The bumble looks pretty minor at this point. And I’ve actually did nothing a couple of times when my ducks had ones like this. And it healed on its own. But since you’ve opened up the skin, definitely keep treating like you have been. Your duck will forgive you I promise. My Marshmallow quacked incessantly in my basement for over a week to tell me how upset she was at being away from her friends.:rolleyes:

I didn't buy it. I'm more of a natural kind of person and really only go for stronger stuff if i need to. I've been using the clear iodine and antibiotic ointment. I'm hoping at this point if i keep it clean and use ointment she will get better. Now if it would just stop raining so the mud can dry out!

My duck pen has been mud all winter long.:he I slip and slide all the way out there. I can’t wait for summer.

Thank you Jana! Yikes, scary stuff. I thought that's what I was reading too.

The lady at tractor supply did tell me not to very it on my skin, wear gloves. She was a vet teck at state vet university or something and something else, while she was in college"can't remember" she had retired now and works at tractor supply. She normally deals with cattle, bigger animals....
