Hello guys,

Noticed one of my chickens had a bump on the “pad” of her foot. Checked another chicken just to see how her feet looked and saw something kind of similar but not as severe, and both of her feet kind of looked the same.

The black polish has the bump on one of her feet but not the other. She is walking normal and acting fine.

If it is an infection what is the best way to treat it.

That looks like Bumble foot to me.
i've never had to deal with it before so I'm not qualified to tell you how to get rid of it.

Do you have a muddy coop ? Spray with Vetericyn and redress every day until healed. Make sure the area is dry really good first.

So I’m guessing from the responses they both most likely have it. Is the scab in the middle usually a give away? I’m guessing the swelling too but the lighter he. Doesn’t really have swelling just that hard scab like the polish does.

When you say spray and dress is that all I should be doing or try to remove the r kernel then spray and dress. I want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly since there seems to be several methods out there. Soaking with epsom, removing the scab, packing the wound with ointment then dressing.
