Hello,
My one pekin has a bumble foot..I have read all the posts and know abt the tricide and soks and epsoms...and I am going to post a graphic picture if allowed ..
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to excise more of the infection? I did peel off the scab but what I am about to show is very fibrous and looks like part of her foot....I have had it wrapped and she has been sitting up on my dry deck with her crippled pal Peggy .I have been using neosporin washing daily...Any input would be greatly appreciated..Do i have all the infection out..I can go back in and get the rest...or I suppose off to a vet $$$$$ ..She is eating and drinking and acts fine..any input and all input would be wonderful......Hopefully i will be able to post the picture and not make anybody sick,,:)

Thank you a million times over....

I hope I have not upset anyone...Just need some direction
Thank you
Susee

I haven't ever treated something like that on a foot, but I have treated stuff like that on other parts of the body. Would be best to find a vet, or try to get that nasty, yellow stuff out.

Thanks, Miss Lydia, I am at the computer now - I would not wrap the foot, I would let air get to it. I would clean it up, put just a drop or two of clear (clear, not brown) iodine on it, keep the duck relatively confined where the bedding is reasonably clean (not outside in the mud), and monitor the foot. I might also start a course of Duramycin-10 because it looks like that has been there for a while and I would be concerned about the infection migrating.
