Bumble or callus

Thank u for the tip! I am always looking for tips! We had a pekin duck growing up named Beep, but he came to us with no feet as a rescue and my grandma made wood shoes for him and he lived a long healthy life thinking he was a dog! Lol
I appreciate all the advice I can get!
Lucky girls to have you! Pekin are prone to foot/leg problems because they are BIG. Your girls are lovely!!! And cute names! My ducks all have food-based names: Figgy (Runner), Clementine (Swedish), Marmalade (Welsh Harlequin), Peanut (Saxony), Julep (Pekin), and Cheddar (Call).

My Welsh Harlequin didn't limp, and she had one if the worst infections I'd ever seen. I felt so bad for missing it! I made a lot of changes to their environment, and it hasn't been a problem since. Now I slather their feet with lanolin every few days. That's made a big difference! Their feet are soft and smooth now - no cracking or roughness at all.
Can I ask what kind of environmental changes did u make? Our girls including the chickens are the most spoiled girls this side of the Mississippi..(we live on one of it's tributaries). Especially when it comes to food!

I sanded EVERY wooden surface in the coop they might walk on. I live in the Foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, so there are lots of rocks and pine cones in the soil, so I go out every few days and pick up what I can. I moved their kiddie pool closer to the coop so they don't have to walk as far. I also added pelleted pine bedding to the area between the coop and the pond. I added water to the bedding so that it broke down into sawdust. The ground around the pond us super duper soft now.

That's an amazing story!!!! Wow!

I have a chicken who has a significant leg deformity, and I'm hoping to make her a splint or a shoe to help her get around better. But a duck with NO feet? Wowzers!
