Bumblefoot help advice needed

I performed bumblefoot surgery on one toe of my hen 2 weeks ago and removed the kernel and pus. Additional pus was removed the following three days. A daily regimen of Epsom salt bath soaks, Bactine spray, iodine, Neosporin , gauze and vet wrap has been followed. After one week the swelling had not gone down so after poking around a second kernel and more puss was found. Fast forward to today, week two, a third kernel and puss was removed!
What should I do? I feel sorry for this poor bird.

You may need to take her to a Vet.

Sounds like you're not getting the whole infection out each time, so it's coming back. Otherwise, it sounds like you're doing everything right. I know other people have said to spray vetericyn on it.

Took her to an avian vet. He prescribed 1/2cc penicillin g intramuscular injection for 5 days. He showed me how to do the next 4. My question is how long do I have to discard her eggs since she is on penicillin?

There is no official egg withdrawal in laying hens for penicillin, since it isn't supposed to be used. However in meat birds the FDA withdrawal is 5 days for eating the meat, and most people usually wait 14 days when using antibiotics. If someone in the household is allergic to penicillin, then I would wait a month, but 14 days is plenty I would think..
