You have got to open it up to get the infection out plus your duck should get quite a bit of relief from the pressure. Not letting it drain will cause more problems than a blood infection Open it up let it drain push around the opening you will probably even get the hard yellow core out. Don't worry about blood infection he is already infected. Be sterile when opening
