Ok thanks so much! Yeah I mostly got the Amoxicillin to help with the illness the two ducks seem to have on top of Munchkins bumblefoot. I'm not sure exactly what it is but their eyes are red and they kinda shake/quiver and Munchkin is twitching her wings. If this doesnt clear it up, I'll look into an avian vet. Thank you!!
With pekin, they are not always the best at cleaning. My pekin will not clean her eyes or nares really unless she is in one of the pools. I would recommend giving them a luke warm bath, possibly even a warm bath, to encourage them cleaning their eyes and nares. I would also rinse her eye out with saline. You can also treat the eye with terramycin if you don't see any improvements. You can get that at TSC or the same website I mentioned for the baytril.

Hey yall....I admit it...I'm one person. I have a packed schedule. I am trying SUPER hard to help this duck. Shes my pet.....she means as much to me as my dogs and cats do. The vet we used said to flush the wound with iodine and not to wrap it...but I didnt like the idea of not wrapping it, so I did for the first couple days. I havent been the last few days since shes always in a clean fresh area and I'm soaking and spraying it AT LEAST once a day. But I admit I cant always do twice. I at least try to spray it with colloidal silver and vetricyn and iodine and such twice but I did miss a few soakings. I cant always actually stick a syringe into the wound and flush it like he wanted but I'll at least dump some on it and spray vetricyn on. I get up early most of the time to treat her and stay up late to fit her in. I swear I look like a zombie but I'm trying to help her. But its not enough. Its getting really cold and shes shivering so much more and her foot is so bad. I was able to get an actual good look at it since I had a helper tonight, but for the most part I have to work alone which is challenging. Her foot looks awful, I feel so awful for her, I tried to pull some of the yellow crap out and sorta flushed it. But its really hard to work on a struggling duck. Digging around in there made it start squirting blood everywhere. Is it time I had another avian specialist out? Or do I try to dig the yellow and black gunk out tomorrow in the day light? I REALLY want to help my baby and will do what I can. 😭 😞

Thats what it looked like after soaking and before trying to gently dig stuff out.

I would see another vet. I have never heard of anyone recommend keeping it unwrapped. You want to keep it clean and dry, but wrapped. I would also see one if you can because these infections can go systemic and kill the duck. My first Pekin got a really bad infection from stepping on metal that I didn't know was on the property. I took her to the wrong vet and lost her because of it.

When I have treated bumblefoot at home on my own, I soak once a day, and I will occasionally skip a day for my own sanity. I soak in iodine and epsom salt for 15 minutes. If the scab is not soft to pull off, I wait another day or two. I puts gobs of triple antibiotic ointment without pain on the wound, place a gauze under it and wrap the foot with vet tape. I do that just once a day. With my Pekin, I always treat with baytril. Once you get the scab off, if you can clean it out, fill the wound with triple antibiotic ointment.

Have you had any better luck wrapping it? If not, I can take a picture of how I wrap my duck's foot. I am treating my Pekin as well, so it would be no trouble to take some photos. They tend to get bumblefoot easily. Sadly, you will probably see this again. You can also try duck shoes.

That all being said, vet is best at this point. Those veins showing worry me that they could be a sign of the infection spreading. I really hope the best for your duck.

The problem is.....I searched for Avian vets in my area and there dont seem to be any......

It's gotten this bad since last Sunday after the vet visit? Definitely find a vet to take it to - it looks like the treatment has made it severely worse. So either you're going to have to do exactly what is recommended treatment wise - no more excuses - or take it to a vet.
You can call around to the extension office (4-h) nearest you to get a qualified vet.

I finally found some. I called like 4-5 different vets and they are all booked out to mid November or dont take new clients :hitI'm at a loss....I could have the same vet out I had...but thats gonna be no use
