My buff had a bruised toe (different than pictured) two weeks ago that has fully healed, but I noticed she was ginger on her other foot and saw this circle between her toes. Is this bumble foot? That toe is also a little bruised on the outside.

Thanks!

Looks like a small injury, not bumblefoot yet. I would treat it topically to prevent any infection so that a bumble doesn't form. Clean it with some betadine or hibiclens, apply some plain triple antibiotic ointment. Reapply as needed a couple times a day til it's healed. I personally wouldn't wrap it unless conditions are very wet and dirty, or if it starts to look worse. Then I would wrap to help keep it clean and dry. I would guess that in a few days it will clear up and be fine.

Sorry to ask another question, and I feel like it’s a “no duh” type of thing but want to be sure, she is rather wobbly at times - I assume this is from the bruising on her feet, but wanted to double check if there was something else I should look out for.

It could be from whatever happened to her foot, it's very hard for me to say. Too much I don't know about your flock. How old is she? How many birds do you have? If she's molting, sometimes they can get wobbly if they aren't eating well. A b complex tablet or capsule once a day can help with that. Likewise if it's a low pecking order bird that might be kept from feeders and doesn't get to eat as often. You will need to watch and see if it seems like limping from the injury, or if it looks like more than that.

She’s a 5 year old buff and I have 3 of my OG and 3 new hens. She bruised her other foot two weeks ago fighting with a new chicken and that fully healed but now has this injury (I soaked it and sprayed with ointment and it already looks a WORLDS better - thank you!) but the bruise is still very much there - actually looks more bruised now that that injury us healing. She is the lowest of the 3 in pecking order, but they eat together fine and she had her own food when she was in the crate for her foot two weeks ago.

I’m leaning towards her not only nurturing the new foot injury, while also being careful with the old one on the other foot. Her wobble is really only present when she poops (she sways a little but has normal poop) and if she is on uneven ground, like where they have made a dust bath. I do have the poultry vitamin crumbles that I put in their food and they get layer feed. I’ve never had a vitamin issue before.

Bruises can look worse before they look better, and some of them can take a while to resolve. Warm epsom salt soaks can help with pain and swelling, if you can do 20 minutes a day, it might help a lot. Even without them, she will likely recover slowly with time.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!
