Bumblefoot problem

I see no bumblefoot. It's a serious case of frostbite where the tissue of his three front toes have been destroyed and his body is walling off the dead tissue, cutting off oxygen so they are turning black and eventually all three will fall off. That leaves him with a "club" foot but he will still be able to walk and run.

He will not be able to roost, so he'll need to sleep on the ground or use a special perch that's just a few inches tall.

Antibiotics are usually not necessary in cases such as this where the chicken's body is jettisoning the dead body parts before they can decay and spread bacteria systemically.
Thank you for this advice. We had an extremely tough winter and definitely thought it was frostbite too. We have been keeping him in a cozy spot in our garage in the meantime And he’s been sleeping on a bed of shavings.

So glad you found us!! :hugs 🥰 I initially saw the ad and really wanted to help y’all but I’m bad at that sort of thing/didn’t know what to say so I made my friend do it :lau  just wanted your boy to be able to get the help he needed!! This site is wonderful. ❤️❤️❤️ And free! 🤣❤️
It definitely has already been so helpful— I have had a tough time with sick hens in the past so now I know I can always ask here. I will keep you posted on the antibiotics but I just ordered them. Fingers crossed it’ll help my guy! Thank you thank you 😊

Yes he definitely is a trooper you would never even guess he’s in pain he hides it well. The vet gave him pain meds to help him for a day. Thank you for this advice, I tried searching for Baytril no prescription but all the sites it led me to are requesting prescription :-( Do you know of a specific site? I will keep searching.
It looks like you got the very link I was alluding to. My internet is verrrrry slow, so it's hard for me to post links.

Great advice. I really thought that bulbous part was infected. This is why you get tagged so much - Haha!
