Bumblefoot question

My Salmon Faverolles has Bumblefoot, confirmed by local avian vet who recommends operation which is very expensive. I have read about other people cutting out the core after soaking the foot but I don’t have help and I’m
wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on how best to manage. Thank you.

I would soak the feet in warm Epsom salts water or soapy water for about 20 minutes. This may soften the scabs, so that you can try to remove the scabs and squeeze out any solid pus. Then you can apply plain antibiotic ointment and a clean gauze bandage. Here is a good link about bumblefoot:
