Yesterday my husband and I Attempted our first bilateral bumblefoot procedure. Hopefully in a few days we'll know that we've been successful. My question is - If her feet are wrapped in vet wrap over neosporin and gauge, could she sleep out in the coop with the other girls tonight and go back to the "hospital room" tomorrow instead of being in the dirty dirt pen. We had her with the others this evening outside in the yard together and the got along fine. Thank you for your help. My family says I'm addicted to the site.

I would say if its wrapped and u got meds on it.. no dirt can get into it unless she takes it off.
but if dirt floor is wet it might get into the wound..

If it was me tho I would keep it separated just to be on the safe side.

I am sure someone will be along shortly and help ya ..

thank you, this is all new to us. Everything I know, I learned at BYC.

- from across the CT river.

I treated a hen for bumblefoot and put her back too soon - and it returned. I think it's best to keep her out for a few days the first time. Some folks on here say 3 days will do it. I didn't know about vet wrap then, however.

If you use vetrap, you can put her in the clean coop with the rest at night. But if she gets it wet or muddy, you have to change it immediately, so like you said, I wouldn't let her in the dirty run.
