Or is it frost bite on her feet.

I don't think so. Only because I have a two year old hen with a toe just like that. One digit that is swollen by the nail, and only on the end. We have not had any freezing weather since last year. I noticed this on her toe just toward the end of this summer. I too wondered if it was bumble, but the other poster says no. I've not done anything with her, the swelling is still there, but it doesn't seem to bother her and nothing appears to be spreading. I was thinking it was some type of localized infection that somehow sneaked in around her toenail. I'm not really sure what to do with it. Your case looks a bit worse. I would guess that some daily soakings wouldn't hurt and may hopefully help in her case.

Curious, but could this be a form of gout? Birds can get gout. Caused by diet, so a change in diet could be what is needed. Not sure what change would be needed, as I haven't read up on it recently, but I think it has something to do with too much protein maybe?

I do feed food compost I get from my work .and there is a lot of protein in it but also a lot of vegs and fruit.and I feed layer pellets.

Well, maybe you should research gout in birds. It doesnt really look like bumble to me. If that food has lots of protein, that may be it. May just need to start reducing that protein amount in that scrap food, but it may be a condition that is hard to reverse, but you could stop the advance of it by taking appropriate steps.

Btw, if it is frostbite, I would imagine those toes would start turning black before long and the tissue dying. So, shouldn't take to much longer to determine that. But you would think chickens have some resistance to frostbite though. :/ Like I said, one of my hens has a swollen toe that looks just like that and it has been months like this and it obviously isn't frostbite.
