Bumblefoot?

Soak for as many days as it takes it may only take a few it might take longer but you want to be able to lift the scab off with out forcing it so as to not tear good skin. Best thing to do is soak dry and apply clear iodine then just do that again till you can get the scab off. Once you get the scab off there may not be a core just a hole because the clear iodine seems to dissolve the pus but if you get the scab off and there is a core then you take sterile tweezers and pull out the plug then pack with antibiotic ointment and keep her on as clean of bedding as possible. You can try wrapping but it's really hard to wrap a ducks foot.

Thank you. What is clear iodine? We have iodine for dipping baby goats cords, but I am not sure if that is what you mean.

Clear or colorless iodine has ammonia in it which seems to be better for bumble foot I have tried both and clear is def better. Pharmacies carry it even Walmart that is where I got it.

I pulled off bumblefoot scab after only ten minutes soaking and it did not pull off good skin-but do whatever you are comfortable with

Ouch yes it is. Start soaks asap half cup Epsom salt to 1 gallon of warm water don't let her drink the solution it's also a laxative.

Pick up the clear or colorless iodine and after soaking and drying apply with qtip or cotton ball. Keep soaking and using the iodine until you can gently peel off the scab, then if there is a pus pocket it will be thick get it out with sterile tweezers then soak again and use the c iodine until healed. Usually this works and no cutting involved.

@Miss Lydia
My walmart doesn't carry clear iodine, and I want to take care of her today as the rest of the week is busy. Can I use 1% iodine like I use for dipping baby goat ambilicol (Not sure how to spell that) cords?
