How can I treat my flock of 10 for bumblefoot? Majority of them have it— mild to moderate cases.

I have been pulling the scabs and applying gauze with Prid and topping with vet wrap.
A couple chickens have needed more invasive treatment (squeezing out pus and removing the seed). I also use Vetericyn spray and a triple antibiotic ointment.

-Coop and run are clean (including roosting bars)
-Horse pellet bedding
-Roosting bars are appx 12 inches from ground
-All wood is free of splinters
-I just started adding vitamins to their water

How else can I help them? Thoughts on adding colloidal silver to their water?

I think you just have to keep cleaning/pulling the scab and making sure you get everything out each time. I’ve never dealt with Bumblefoot but I know it tends to last a long time sometimes. I’m sorry!
Good luck and I hope it resolves quickly! ❤️

I'm in the same boat as you! I trying to find some sort of treatment to help clear up about the same number of hens in my flock with Bumblefoot. When I've only had a few here and there in years past, I've soaked them in a warm Epsom salt water, followed up with the same treatment as you did.

Just feel overwhelmed with the number I have this summer and trying to treat all of them along with all my other adulting duties. 😜

I'm definitely curious about treating my flock with aquamox, but don't know how to navigate that with a flock that is mixed ages.

Anyone have luck using aquamox for Bumblefoot?
