We discovered one of our 4 month old pullets has black around two of her toes. It looks like they would have had string wrapped around them and the tissue died (an example of how they look, this didn't happen). I am wondering if it may be bumblefoot. We will post some pictures tomorrow evening if necessary. We are preparing for the Hurricane right now, not that she's not important, we just didn't have time to take pictures before it got dark.

The black goes right around her toes, it appears to be painful or uncomfortable. What could we use other than vet wrap to wrap her foot? I don't know if we can buy Vet Wrap around here.

Sounds like it went past bumble foot and the tissue has died. If it wasn't summer I'd suggest frostbite. Pics will help a lot.

At the drug store or grocery store the sell the same stuff for humans. Called Coban here but I think there is generic here.

Stay Safe.

Use the search button above and do a search for bumblefoot. There are a number of really good threads about bumblefoot that have great pictures. It should help you diagnose what's going on.

Good luck!
