I have a question. I have a 6 month BC Marans pullet that hurt her foot. She is separated from the rest of the flock and will hardly step on her foot. The pad of her foot is swollen and I feel heat. I have been looking up bumble foot which seems the most likely culprit. My question is if it is bumble foot does it have to have the black scab? I can find zero spots of any kind on her foot. Her toe seems to be curled up also. What I have read to treat bumble foot you need to remove the scab to remove the plug. Any suggestions? I really do not want to dig into her foot if I do not know where to start. Thank you anyone who might be able to help.
