I have a rhode island red with bumbefoot. I have been treating her for almost 7 months. I have operated on it 3 times, this last time i finally got a lot of stuff out of it, but it will not heal up. I just don't know what to do now. I have been giving her penicillin shots for the last 6 days and also soaking her foot in tricide neo. Today I put the sugar/iodine poultice on her foot. I'm getting worried about how much longer to keep her on the penicillin because i noticed the skin on her chest and stomach has turn red. Should I stop the shots or keep her on them for 10 days? The scab that's there now looks like it could still have pus under it but, I just don't know if I should keep opening it up or not.
