About three months ago I had a little guy (light Brahma) hatch. I know I should have euthanized him, but I didn't - I fell in love with him instead! The little guy shivered constantly, some sort of nerve thing, I guess. He certainly wasn't cold. We named him after a friend of ours who has Parkinson's (I know, not nice, but neither bird nor person minded). Little Bryant didn't grow very big and soon was the smallest of the hatch. I had younger a buff orp chick "take him under its wing" so to speak. They were inseparable.
Bryant and Puffy were the best of friends and were very friendly, too. They spent much time in my lap in the evenings and followed me around outside when I let them out.
Anyway, long story short - this morning Bryant passed. I found him in the brooder with Puffy standing guard. Puffy even bit me when I reached in to get him out! RIP Bryant. You were a sweet little guy and will be missed.
