Bumps on eggs?

[sunny & the 5 egg layers]

I have a 3 year old black australorp hen. My hen has itchy ears and today she laid an egg with little bumps all over it. The bumps rub off when I rub the egg. I read something about lice eggs? Would lice lay eggs on my hens egg like that?

I believe the bumps are just extra deposits of calcium.

Lice need live warm bodies.

Yeah, usually those bumps just mean extra calcium in their diets. It's not anything to be worried about. We had hens that would ALWAYS have extra bumpy weird looking eggs because whenever we'd throw out some oyster shell for them to scratch at, certain hens would just gobble it up right away, while others weren't as interested.
