Thanks, everyone, for the advice. I've decided that they might just be slow featherers since I don't see any other signs of picking. . . Meanwhile, I threw in a couple of cabbage leaves last night and had a blast watching them chase each other with it in their mouths. They didn't quite understand that it's food. Rather, it was a chasing toy. It was hilarious.
This morning, I scrambled up an egg to add more protein to their diet (and to spoil them with a little treat.) Again, they didn't realize it was food at first, but eventually started eating the crumbles after I started offering it to them by hand.
I'm sure enjoying watching these little chicks!
