So we have two blue laced red wyandotte chicks that have bumpy combs. Our other 4 have smooth combs. We are brand new to this and have no idea the sex of any of our chicks. They are about 4-5 weeks old we're guessing. Any help???????

just looks like bad breeding. wyandottes have rose combs or the "smooth" ones. the "bumpy" ones you are seeing show us that they have been mixed with a chicken that has a single comb, or the typical kind you see on chickens with the long points.

as for sexing with combs, wyandottes are a little tough... along with this inconsistency with the combs, this should be pretty difficult for a beginner. you could post more pictures of all of them so we can compare them to one another. but the only advice i can really offer you is that comb size and redness is what really matters in sexing. rose combs are small and typically redder at a younger age. you may have to look at the wattles if they have any.

the bird/birds in the pics you uploaded look female to me, though.
